The XRP user base continues to grow, with more than 8 million funded XRP accounts now recorded. The latest rich-list figures show how XRP is spread across millions of accounts while a much smaller group holds very large balances.
An account holding 2,151 XRP is now in the top 10% of XRP holders. The top 5% requires 7,503 XRP, while 44,896 XRP is enough to reach the top 1%. To enter the top 0.1%, an account needs about 275,420 XRP.
XRP Rich List Accounts Surpass 8 Million
More than 8 million XRP accounts are now funded. This does not mean 8 million individual people own XRP because one person or organization can control multiple accounts. Still, the figure shows that XRP is held across a large number of accounts.
The rich-list rankings also show a large gap between ordinary holders and the biggest accounts. While millions of accounts hold XRP, only a small number hold hundreds of thousands or millions of tokens.
Around 800 Accounts Hold More Than 3 Million XRP
The XRP rich list shows that roughly 800 accounts hold more than 3 million XRP. Crypto analyst Ramos said in a recent video that these balances represent XRP tokens rather than dollar values. Holding 3 million XRP places an account among the smallest percentage of XRP holders by balance.
He said the distribution highlights how concentrated large XRP holdings are among a relatively small number of accounts. Ramos also noted that he does not personally hold 3 million XRP, describing such a balance as a substantial amount.
The Top 1% Holds Around 40,000 XRP
According to the distribution data discussed by Ramos, around 40,000 XRP is enough to place a holder in approximately the top 1% of accounts. He said that continued crypto adoption could eventually increase demand for XRP and other major cryptocurrencies.
However, he stressed that holders should not feel pressured to sell their homes, cars or other assets to buy XRP.
“Do not feel like you have to just go all in,” Ramos said, emphasizing that cryptocurrency remains an investment and that other financial and personal priorities are important.
XRP Whale Activity Rises
The growing holder base comes as activity among large XRP holders has also increased. Transactions worth more than $1 million in XRP reportedly jumped about 280% on August 18, rising from around 9.9 to more than 38 within 24 hours.
The number of accounts holding at least 1 million XRP also increased from about 2,006 to 2,038 over three months. Wallets holding between 10 million and 100 million XRP reportedly accumulated 1.23 billion XRP during 2026, even as XRP’s price fell sharply.
XRP Network Activity Increases
XRP activity has also increased among existing users. Average daily active addresses rose from about 26,400 in July to 35,700 in August, an increase of roughly one-third. However, new addresses remained almost unchanged. The daily average was about 2,260 in August compared with 2,270 in July.
This suggests that much of the increase in activity came from accounts that were already using the XRP network rather than from a large wave of new users.
What the XRP Rich List Shows
The latest figures give a clearer picture of XRP ownership:
- 2,151 XRP: Top 10%
- 7,503 XRP: Top 5%
- 44,896 XRP: Top 1%
- 275,420 XRP: Top 0.1%
Roughly 800 accounts reportedly hold more than 3 million XRP, showing how concentrated the largest balances are.
The rankings can change over time as more accounts are funded and holders add or sell XRP.
How Much XRP You Should Hold?
Ramos has said that 100,000 XRP is the target he often mentions when people ask how much XRP they should own. He also pointed out how much the value of that amount can change with XRP’s price.
When XRP traded around $0.40-$0.50 in 2024, 100,000 XRP was worth about $40,000-$50,000. When XRP later reached around $3.60, the same amount was worth about $360,000.
Ramos has warned investors not to put everything they own into XRP.
“Do not feel like you have to just go all in,” he said, stressing that investors should continue to prioritize savings, housing, family needs and other financial goals.
